Do I buy an exercise machine or continue my membership at the YMCA?

Update: I don't know enough to be able to compare these suckers. Anyone know more? I am looking at under $1000 and I don't need bells and whistles but I don't want it to fall apart anytime soon.

I really feel like I will use an elliptical machine in my house more often than I will run across the street to the Y. Should I do it? Apparently I am now unable to make decisions without consulting my fine readers.

Hi Andrea, this is unrelated to your topic but I noticed you have an adorable french bulldog. I am looking to buy one and was wondering if you recommend the breeder you used. If so, who did you go through? Thanks for the help!

Buy the machine.

You didn't say what you'd use it for... If you meant - you feel you'd use an elliptical machine in your house: to pile clothes on, as an extra chair for guests, or to fill up that extra space in the bedroom by the closet, then you should keep your membership at the Y.

Seriously though, I think it's healthier physically and socially to go elsewhere to exercise.

Either way, keep fit!

Go to the Y! I have exercise equipment at home, but nothing beats going to the gym! You definitely work out harder and have fewer distractions! Happy Holidays!

I don't know bout you but I've had a bunch of exercise machines in my houz for ages and I've used them but a few of times so far. A gym elsewhere has that enticing effect on you (possibly from the smell of dried sweat, lol) to get you to work out, compared to at home where it feels like it's apart of your deco. Still, if that's not a problem for you, then by all means get a machine that's also fun to use.
