Tokyo '06: Kamakura Day Trip

From Tokyo, Kamakura is easily accessible by train.

One can always afford to show enthusiasm!

Let's check this out, shall we?

But first, group photo:

Then, we must wash our hands to ensure long life and to get the filth off:

Jonah is filled with wonder. Or checking out a plane in the sky:

Temple steps - white lady and policeman:

I wonder why I love vermillion. Might have something to do with the million and counting temples I've seen in my life:

Wait. Another group photo! You can never take too many of those!

There was a bird in a white fur coat - no doubt, angora. Nice. Real nice.

There's the elusive Buddha!

My dad simply refused to throw up his peace sign! Argh, frustrating!!

Who's the Buddha now??!!

Do you have Buddha hands? Me? Constantly. It's a state of mind, really.

This was right around the time when Jonah said the Buddha's body was "buddha-licious" :-)

I don't even know you, but your blog makes me laugh!

Andrea,
Is this the same place that Scarlett Johannson ventured off to in "Lost in Translation" and later was on the phone to her friends crying that she didn't feel anything from the chanting of the monks??

Hi Andrea! I read someone's comment on one of your blogs (I believe she's a Canadian like myself) but she wrote that she was searching for French Bulldogs on the web and happened to land on your site. Well, that's what exactly happened to me too. LOL... then after reading a couple of your blogs, I thought, she's got some cool things on there! (I especially like the camera shots you make and each caption you make, hehe). Funny thing is though: I LOVE NYC with all my heart (I make a visit to the city at least once a year) and like you, I'm an "ainoko". Hahaha (I'm 5/8 Japanese, 3/8 Chinese, born and raised here in Vancouver, BC, Canada). Anyway, I thought I'd say that your blogs are a whole lot of fun to read and everytime I see you take pictures of my beloved city of NY, I just... feel like I need to go there ASAP and often. =| You just made yourself a new fan to your blog site. =o) Thanks for sharing you fun stories with us all!

Btw, were those photos taken in Nara? I looooooove jinja and otera's! =)

Hold up... silly me, that Buddha is outside isn't it. LOL. That is Kamakura. Thought only your train pics were in Kamakura. I got mistakened by the big ass Buddha indoor in Nara. Apologies for my "err... ittani konoko, nani itteru no...????" comments. LOL. Gomen.

I'm sooo jealous. The time I spent in Japan back in the late 80's were the best. Thanks for the photos, it's wonderful to see some things haven't changed.
